Meet Dr Hyun.
Dr Hyun Soo Yu graduated with honours in Dental Science from the University of Melbourne in 2006, and spent his early career in Sydney refining his craft across a busy mix of surgical and restorative dentistry before returning to Melbourne.
Since 2012 he has led Grey Street Dentist in St Kilda, and today also leads Synergy Dental Group in Parkdale — the two clinics behind The Implant Standard. His postgraduate journey has been built deliberately around one discipline: replacing missing teeth to the highest standard. That path includes a Master of Science in Implantology, Fellowship of the International Congress of Oral Implantologists (FICOI), and postgraduate orthodontic training that informs complete, whole-smile planning.
Hyun's approach is defined by digital precision — CBCT 3D imaging, digital smile design and guided surgery — paired with an unhurried, honest consultation style. Patients consistently describe the same experience: everything explained clearly, every option on the table, and no pressure to proceed.
